Delayed Tax returns caused by “customer data migration”.

That time of the year has arrived again, it’s time to do your taxes. While some will be looking forward to getting their returns; others won’t be so keen, finding themselves paying more. However there’s a problem this year that 4 million Aussies are going to have to face when they go get their tax done.

Medibank’s Chief Executive, Craig Drummond issued a statement on Thursday explaining the delay as a result of “customer data migration”, recognising it as  “unacceptable”.

He continued “I sincerely apologise to our customers for this disruption. It is important for customers to know their personal data has not been compromised. Our team is working around the clock to resolve this issue, and I want to assure the customers that our focus is on minimising the impact this will have on them”
Medibank confirmed that they will not be able to issue their annual tax statements by the July 15 deadline.

What does this mean for you if you are a Medibank customer?

Fitzpatrick Group can still prepare your income tax return and hold it on our system, however, we will be unable to lodge your return until this information is made available. You can simply email the paperwork when it arrives and we will endeavour to lodge your return immediately thereafter.
